Maximise output. Minimise energy loss.
The difference between the energy consumption of a well maintained heat pump and a severely neglected one ranges from 10% to 25%.
Along with cleaning the filters once a month, Ezi-Breeze recommends a professional service for your heat pumps every 12 – 24 months.
Depending on the type of heat pump you have, a small amount of condensation or water dripping on the outside of your unit (i.e. outside the house) is normal. But for the most part, your heat pump unit should stay dry whether or not it’s in use. If the outdoor unit is located on brackets above the soil, the condensation will drain into the soil which is fine. If the unit is located on concrete with a drain attached to it, the drain can block up with ice if it’s cold enough outside. It can also block up with dust and dirt because it is cycling air from outside. Both issues can cause an icy water leak which will not affect the performance of the unit.
Some units are fitted with a condensate pump which can be prone to leaking due to the high amount of dirt collected during the winter months which can block the pump. Preventative maintenance is recommended.
If we attend a callout and any of the above issues are present, we are not able to cover the cost under warranty.
